Misty Morning

October 11th, 2026

Today was a very very foggy day. The possibility of photographing birds was vastly reduced by this heavy fog. That and the very cold morning and feeling a bit under the weather from fighting off the flu. When the temperatures started rising, the fog still hadn’t cleared. So my friend Chris and I decided to go out for a walk in La Conner and in a local farm called Gordon’s Family Farm. It is October and the season of Halloween so the colors are vibrant and fun.

I brought along my 50mm f1.2 and used shallow depth of field to emphasize my subjects and really make them stand out at f2.8. The mist started to inspire me as we walked through La Conner. I loved how the haunting nature of the mist bring character to the images I was taking along the boardwalk. The result is an eclectic series of images of the colors of the season as well as misty pictures.
