Iverson Walk

October 10th, 2026

Today the sun peaked out at 7:30am. The days are getting shorter and shorter as we head into fall. On days where we have a bright sky, I can go out and do photography, but today the clouds didn’t cooperate. We waited a bit and watched the sky. When I stared to see some brightening, we headed out in the Honda CRV.

We used to go out on photography excursions using our Dodge Ram 3500. We called him Bruce and had the car since 2004. He was a great truck for many years and took us through many trips including Yellowstone, Montana, Wyoming, South Dakota, Oregon, Utah, Arizona, and many places all over the country. We had several RVs over the years that we towed or carried to each destination. Unfortunately the cost of fuel just no longer allowed us to make the trips viable. Airbnbs became a much more affordable choice. We traded our Dodge Ram and Ford Mustang for a wonderful Honda CRV.

So we drove out to Iverson Spit to get some walking in on this lovely trail along the shore. Over the years you have seen many of my trips to this location. A favorite because of the lovely small birds that venture here to eat the fruit along the trail. No issues with being restricted to non-hunting season and the flat trail helps on days when mobility is harder such as when I was recovering from my broken leg.

Any way not a lot of birds out today but was a good walk out in the fresh air and bits of sunshine. The wind was a light breeze that made the day a lovely one. On the way out along the trail, we heard the birds but nothing photographable. The return trip was different as we saw many birds. Lots of them popping up in different places and we took 4 times a long to travel back because kept stopping to admire. A good morning.
