Killdeer on Flats

I am not sure why the puget sound had lower water in the winter this year, but it led to sections of mud where the birds would explore out in the open. I was surprised to see a killdeer wandering the mud flat. The lighting was not ideal with the bird being backlighted, but I managed to get several good shots of the killdeer combining my 100-500 with my new 2x Tel-extender.
