Heron Drink

Sometimes a story only requires one or two images. This is one of those times. The heron here takes a drink on a calm morning. I have often photographed this great blue heron hunting and sometimes catching food like fish, frogs, or many other kinds of food. It is fun to watch and capture him doing this. This is often a case of patiently waiting for him to find and strike food.
Today he was perching on a branch in the low water for quite some time before there was a pause for water. Not much going on and he will often stay like this for hours. On this day, I was able to capture him doing the simple act of drinking water.
