Arlington Eagle Festival

February 1st, 2025

We woke this morning to temperatures in the 30s and no snow. The forecast has predicted at least some snow but nothing outside my window. I am starting to see how the nearby water affects our weather. We get wind off the water from time to time that rattles the house, but that seems to affect the entire town of Stanwood. The temperature is different. When it says a particular temperature, we often find that only a mile from our house the temperature and weather is somewhat different. Sometimes by as much at 5 degrees.

Arlington has a festival this weekend and we wanted to attend and explore the details early this morning before most people arrived. Not a lot of people there which was nice as we got to explore the town more. Lots of signs of a touch of snow everywhere including on the surrounding area. Several times the snow fell on me as we walked along the sidewalk.

The first thing we saw was older tractors and equipment on display. One of them was pumping water and it was looking the equipment over and photographing it. Friendly people who were obviously having fun with the experience getting ready for the day.

There were many wood carvers at the event was especially interesting. There was the result of the art including many of my photographs here. Then there was the beautiful view of artists working on the wood. I enjoyed time capturing the artists at work on the wood to make something out of the wood.
