Why Architecture?

In the course of each year, I visit many different locations. The locations that I pick have some kind of central interest such as natural features, historical background, entertainment, native wildlife, or special time of year. The challenge is finding a location through research on the web and learning from other people’s experiences.

The journey to a location often brings an unanticipated area of interest. Sometimes my original vision for photographs doesn’t speak to me as I envisioned. When that happens, I often discover a new image that is much more pleasing than my original vision. It is surprises like this that have made for some of the very best photographs.

I am drawn to shapes in the context of their surroundings. The colors and lines tell a story which is always something that draws me. It is not always about capturing the architecture or object itself, but about how it combines with its surroundings. The process of seeing a photograph involves combining 2 or more elements together to tell a story.
