White-winged Scoter

I found a flock of white-winged scoters. It was hard to get close enough to get them in the heaving water. My hiking boots helped a lot walking over the uneven ground to the edge of the water. With some work, I got out to an island of gravel over a small shallow part of water. As soon as I got there, a bird flew in and landed in the water and I was able to capture that moment. This ended up being one of the best of the day and was only a brief moment during 3 hours of walking.
