Trumpeter Swans

November 21st, 2021

These trumpeter swans had wonderful interaction together after a pause where a group of 8 of them sat hardly moving for 2 hours. They approached and seemed to be taunting each other. After a while I realized it was some form of mating behavior. Became even more obvious when they swam away together.
I was inspired by this video Improve Your black and white photography and my wife suggested making the swans in their mating behavior into black and white. The resulting images are much more dramatic and really shows off the subject of the swans so much better. The swan in flight with the color behind was kept color because I feel that has more of a dramatic affect.
