Smith Rock State Park

Oregon has a wonderful location near Redmond Oregon where you can find many photographic opportunities. There are wonderful red rocks, river and birds there. We spent several days there exploring the area in the mornings and evenings. Very hot there in the summer.
On the first day we encountered a wonderfully colorful balloon in the morning. I was glad I had my 100-500 lens with me and quickly put it on. Then the trick was running back and forth trying to get the balloon in exactly the right place. What I eventually found out was that if I positioned myself so that the ballon was just behind the rock. I was able to get the shot.
