Experiment with gel

Color correction

I started another experiment with gels and began with a simple shot. A Profoto D2 was placed to the right of Emi to the side and a bit in front. The D2 had a zoom reflector and I allowed some of the light to spill on the background. The gray card is a DataColor and I corrected all the images using this card.

Simple image with single light

The resulting image shows wonderful shape along her body with the light landscaping along her body. I want to fill those shadows with color

Color in the shadows

I added a second Profoto D2 with a zoom reflector. The reflector has a red gel which brings color to the shadows. Unfortunately it also adds color to the background which I don’t want.

Added barn doors

I added barn doors to the zoom reflector on the left and edged them to avoid shining red light on the background. The resulting image removes the color from the background.

Final Image

The final image has a slightly brighter background. I produced this by adding a 3rd Profoto D2 to shine more light on the background.
