Common Male Merganser

Another wonderful sunny day today. Not much activity and then a common male merganser showed up. At first he just wandered close which was wonderful. He swam back and forth and then all the sudden started catching fish. The first one was a really big fish and the bird struggled to eat it for a while. When he did, he swelled it whole. Amazing to watch. I thought he would be full by then but then he proceed to catch 7 more fish of varying size. Apparently he was VERY hungry.
