Ari at the Dog Park: Frisbee After Frisbee

November 3rd, 2026

The weather has gone full fall this week—cooler, grayer, the usual warning that rain is coming. It skipped us today, so after work we took Ari to the dog park.

Ari treats the frisbee like it’s the only job that matters. The second it leaves your hand he’s already in motion, ears up, eyes locked, then he launches and plucks it clean out of the air like he’s been practicing the exact spot it would be. He’ll spin around with it still in his mouth, tail going, and bring it back at a trot that says “again.” And he means it. Throw after throw, same sharp timing, same little hop at the end when he knows he’s got it.

Between throws he peels off to join whatever other dogs are there. One minute he’s shoulder-to-shoulder in a flat-out sprint across the grass, the next he’s cutting wide circles or bouncing sideways when someone else changes direction. Then the frisbee goes up and he’s gone again, full focus, leaving the pack mid-run. The cooler air and open space just gave him more room to keep the whole cycle spinning—catch, victory trot, chaos run with the others, catch again—until we finally called it. He looked ready for another hour.
